Wellbutrin helped my husband. He sees a therapist, also. Wellbutrin gave me uncomfortable side effects. I hope you friend's doc is wiiling to work with him to find a med that helps and does not cause bad side effects. Anti-depressants effect each person differently. I agree,too, that seeing a therapist will be helpful. Peace
