Q: whats the difference of 25 grams of zoloft and 50 grams

i was taking 25 grams of zoloft dr increased it to 50 grams. i recently went off it not realizing the bad withdrawels i would have. they also have me on .25 grams of zanax to get me back on track i dont want to get addicted to the zanax can you help and why the jump from 25 to 50 of zoloft

Maria,

 

You certainly mean mg rather than grams?

 

Only your doctor can tell you why he increased the dosage on the Zoloft. How were you doing on 25mg? Was it working for you?

 

Always be sure to consult your doctor before discontinuing medications. You might have done better to go back to 25mg for a while before totally discontinuing it.

 

In any case, you'll need to ask your doctor why he increased your dosage.
