Q: ECT?

What are the side effects of ECT and are they permanent?  What should I consider prior to undergoing ECT?  Once started must it be continued indefinitely?

One article you can read which has a good bit of information, both within the article and the comments, was written by Merely Me, a writer and community leader for this site, last December. She interviewed a doctor familiar with, and a proponent of, the procedure.

Dr. Shock talks about Electroconvulsive Therapy. The name is his blog name.

It may have most of your answers, if not you can write again or perhaps other members will add information also.
