Where can I find a good cognitive behavior therapist in Connecticut?
Hi Edward
Well in doing a search for this information I found several resources right away.
The National Association of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapists has a search engine to find a doctor in your area. Just click here.
And here is a listing of such therapists in your state right here.
Not sure where you live but in New Haven they have a place called The Center for Dialectical and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies and you can find their web site here.
Good luck in your search! I hope this yields a good therapist for you.
My wondering is whether CBT might be something we could learn online - whether we might have the software and hardware tools to make it happen?
When I went through a training series in DBT, much of it was learning the theory and then a workbook-type approach to applying it in our lives.
I used to think insight-oriented therapy might be a better solution for some, but the some who can afford it as often as it might take to be effective are fewer than those of us for whom it isn't.
So I'm looking - if you have any tips/suggestions/hints, color me open to them. This may not be a Connecticut-specific answer, but it's off the top of my head.
