Hi there   Yeah...you might want to check out our Bipolar site then...Manic Depression is just another name for Bipolar Disorder.  Here is another link which explains:  "Manic depression is another term for bipolar disorder. Manic depression, a phrase that describes the extremes of mood associated with bipolar disorder."    Some people with this type of mood disorder miss their periods of feeling more manic when the medication takes this away.    I think too it is a common complaint of the meds that they tend to flatten you out emotionally.  That was my experience with Prozac.  You could sit me anywhere to watch the paint dry...I didn't care.   I would talk to your doctor to see what your options are.    Thanks for writing back.  We are here for you if need support.
