Q: What herbal products and other supplements cannot be taking with Nardil (MAO I)?

I am taking Nardil antidepressant and have been for many years. I have been told that Phizer, Inc., Park-Davis Division changed the formula for Nardil in 2003. It makes sense to me because of my increasing health problems. Know anything about that? I do take a number of herbal products and supplements for my general health. The FDA does not require drug manufacturers to test their drugs for them and herbal/supplement interactions. My doctor has no information on this.

Need help on this problem as I don't know where to look for info.

I did not find a defined list of herbal supplements that should be avoided while taking Nardil, but if you would send me the list, I could check in individual interactions for you. You're right there is very little research out there at the moment but closer analyzation of herbal products is in the works. There is a very interesting article here, that might be useful to you. I hope this was helpful...
