Q: i was given wellbutrin xl 150 mg. to try to help stop smoking , i am scared to start it, it seems like a high dose. and i take paxil 10mg. at night, is this ok together

Deborah, while we're not doctors here, I take Wellbutrin and 150 mg. is about the smallest dose they start you with.  The maximum is 450 mg.  I don't think you need to be scared to take it.  If the same doctor prescribed both drugs, I think you can assume that it's okay.  However, if different doctors prescribed them, I would call one of their offices and find out.  Or, you can ask the pharmacist.  By the way, the Wellbutrin helped me stop smoking years ago and it wasn't all that difficult - and I smoked for about 25 years.  Good luck!
