Hi Gary

Has someone told you that you will not gain weight on Lexapro?  The literature is a mixed bag on this...some people do gain weight on this medication.

I wrote a two part article about this topic and you can find where I discuss Lexapro and possible weight gain here.

And this site reports that:  "In previous clinical studies, gaining weight occurred in up to 5 percent of people taking this medicine (although the exact percentage was not reported)."

I would discuss your options with your doctor.  Thank you for your question.
