Q: what treatment is available for hepatis C when the first treatment failed

I was diagnosed with hepatitis C in 1998 and I went through the treatment for 12 months which included giving myself shots of interon 3 times a week.  My hepatitis C is once again active. I would like to know what other treatment, if any, is available now.

Unfortunately once you have hep C it is very seldom that people make a full recovery. From what I have read anyway. Kinda wierd but I came across something that was related to this last night. Might be worth a shot. I was looking for something for my neuropathy and came across these two items.

Look into this:

Alpha-Lipoic Acid. (available at walmart)

Low Dose Naltrexone. (Prescribed). Its actually a anti-addiction medication.

There are lots of studies going on about the LDN as we speak and there getting amazing results against cancer especially Hep C. They are currently petitioning to get approval to test against multiple sclirosis.

Hope this helps.

I don't know what treatments are out there but my ex-husband had hep C and he took pills daily and a shot once a week for nine months.  I don't remember what it was all called.  But his hep c did drop below the levels they wanted it to. While he was going thru the treatment he got onto a hep c online support group which really helped him with questions the drs didn't seem to have answers to.  I do remember some people saying they had to go thru the tx 2-3 times.  I would encourage you to find one online and you'll probably get some good information.
