Q: how can u tell a placebo from the real drug

Thanks for your question. Placebos are typically given so that you can not tell them from the "real drug" by look or taste. However, the success of making the two so similar can vary from drug to drug. Assuming all or most placebos are similar enough to pass the look,feel and taste tests, the only real way to find out which is the placebo and which is the drug is to study their makeup.
