Q: what are the with draw symptoms from lexapro

I have been on lexapro for about 2 years now. The doctor put me on it to help me sleep. After looking in to this drug I found that it could be why my blood thinner is not working right. I was on 10 mg tablets and cut down to 5mg per day for 2 monthes before I have stop taken it all together. Now I have some side effects I think from with draw but I'm not sure. Can anyone help me with the with draw symptoms of lexapro?

Hi Cray,

I am really suprised your GP would prescribe an antidepressant for sleep issues. I hope that you have informed him of your choice to stop.

There are many different withdrawal effects from antidepressants and no one can really say what you are going to experience from long term use.

In most cases withdrawal effects would be:

1. Anxiety.

2. Depression.

3. Since antidepressants generally work thru the small intestine you can experience problems with bowel movements like the runs or constipation.

4. sweating.

For more information about what you can expect and ideas to help you cope with the withdrawals go to this site.

Good luck,
