I take effexor and sometimes think it might be making me sleepy so much of the time, but then again I have always had a hard time getting up in the AM no matter how much sleep I've had, so I can sympathize.
The others gave good advice: get your thyroid checked, try vitamin B.
what is your healthy breakfast? It should include protein, that could help. just carbs for b'fast might make you sleepy. (If i ate bagels for b'fast, I would sleep all day.) green tea (it has caffeine) would be better than red bull and mtn dew, since it doesn't have all the sugar.
