antidepressants not helping

Hi,

I have been on antidepressants 1 week, and I know thats not a lot, and generally it takes a few days to a few weeks for the antidepressants to start working. I'm on Zoloft, this is the first time I've ever been on an antidepressant. Within a couple days I felt absolutely wonderful, but since the initial peak I've slowly gone back down hill. First it was my anxiety which came back, which was ok. But now I'm back to full on crying fits. I can't take it. I don't know whats wrong. I just want to feel better like i did when I first started the medicine. And now, its not only that I'm feeling anxious and down, the medicine also makes me fatigued all day long, and sick every single morning.

I don't know what to do.

You need to talk to your doctor and either have the dose adjusted or try another antidepressant. While there can be peaks and valleys with antidepressant treatment, yours sounds too extreme.

They are no better than a sugar pill. Get off them ASAP safely before you become hooked on them and you will get worse not better. They blunt your emotions [good and bad, change your brain chemistry, alter your personality etc.]
