Q: Is Lexapro good for anxiety?

I have found that when I stop taking Lexapro I seem to have a lot of anxiety.  I thought that this drug was for depression.  I do not have depression but an anxiety disorder.  I am pretty nervous and anxtious without it.  I wish I could live without an anti anxiety drug, but this one works very well.

Hi donut man,

Thank you for your question! Lexapro is approved by the FDA for treatment of depression and generalized anxiety disorder. If you find that it works for you, and you're not having unmanageable side effects, you should probably stick with it!

Best of luck,

Casey

Surprised  Hello donut man

I have been taking Lexapro for about 2 weeks... for Depression AND Anxiety... So far... I do not have any noticeable improvement,

but if it helps to some degee... as you mentioned ... maybe it is helping...Youshould take"something" though... I would say.

You may have to take it longer... Of course, if you want to wean yourself  from it... lower the doseage ... if Doc agrees... Goodluck!
