What do you do when depressants don't work?  I have also tried many kinds of anti-depressants  and the onlyone that I can remember that was given to me by a neurologist at Mayo clinic was many years ago, a doctor who was very interested in my problem--and he had me taking LIbrium, whihc it seems is now not on the market.  He apparently thought I was very nervous, too- which I am, but  the depression is worse now than ever.  Have been on all of the anti-depressants , (am sure), but now my doctor (psychiatrist) wants to try me on the "new" one, which I see has many serious side effects---I am hesitant to try this new pi,ll (Prestiq)- because I have thought of ending my life, and it reads (on the enclosed brochure) that this new pill may cause one to  attempt or commit suicide.  I am deeply depressed, and my husband suffers also, since he does not know how to help.  P.S.  Forgot to mention that the LIbrium was very good  for me. Thank you for any help.
