Q: Went off Celexa abruptly, now my period is a week late.

I ran out of my perscription then my Dad went into the hospital and died. I have now been off of it for about 10 days. I am getting the electrical shock feelings. They are mild but very often and bothersome. Now I am 7 days late with my period. Could missing my period be from coming off of Celexa so abruptly? I took 2 preg. tests and both negative...

Hi Shannon

Anti-depressants can cause changes in hormones...I suppose it is possible.  I am so sorry about your father.  You truly are going through so much at this time.  I know you wrote this at the beginning of this month...was wondering how you are doing at this point in time.

Thank you for reaching out here and I do apologize that your question was not answered earlier.  Please let us know how you are doing.
