Q: would symptoms of slowly weaning off zoloft be the same as the symptoms of an overdose of it ?

Been taking Zoloft for about 10 yrs. Am trying to wean off of it. Started at 100 mg. For the last week have cut it to 75mg. Feeling jittery and lightheaded. Stay at 75 mg for another week ,or just resign myself to Zoloft for the long run at 100mg?

Hi Jitters

Okay...the thing I am not understanding is...you have told your doctor about wanting to wean off the zoloft right?  You should not do this on your own.

Here is some information I found for you about Zoloft withdrawal and possible side effects.  I do think you will need your doctor's advice about how to wean from this medication.  You will probably need to do it more slowly is my best guess.

Let your doctor know what is going on.  I hope this goes more smoothly for you with your next attempts.

Thank you for your question.
