question concerning increase in welbutrin to 350mg in morning and on clonazepam 1mg for anxiety

MJ

I have insomnia since very young age and I have anixety and depression.  My doctor raised my welbutrin to 350mlg. a day every morning all at once.  And for axiety she started me on Clonazepam 1 mg. 1/2 in morning and 1 at night to help with sleep.  Also ambien if needed. I sleep maybe 2 to 4 hours a night.  Could it be the welbutrin increase?  I need sleep!! Thank you for any help with this.  Is welbutrin, being an older drug, still good for depression compared to the newer drugs? I give anything for a good 8 hrs. sleep.

It's possible that Wellbutrin could affect your sleep, as it can exacerbate anxiety. I don't want to second-guess your doctor, but I'm kind of surprised that she put you on it, with your history of anxiety. Sufficient sleep is very important to someone with depression, so if you feel that the Wellbutrin is interfering, you probably should speak to her about it.
