Hi Kandra,

Unfortunately these are very common symptoms of depression. As you probably know, they tend to subside somewhat as the day progresses. It may be worth speaking to your doctor about changing the time of day you take medication. This could help to take the edge off the worse symptoms.

Another thing you may find helpful is to do some exercise. I know it's the last thing you'll feel like doing but it will help to boost your energy, burn some adrenaline and is a natural way to boost endorphins that make you feel better. If you can establish a routine you might find it's a good way to start your day and a helpful distraction.

Hi Kandra

You know...someone else was just asking today about morning depression.  It really is a difficult time of day for many of us.  I wrote a post about morning depression that you might want to read for suggestions.

I also write on the Anxiety site and you may find some helpful suggestions there as well.

Can you tell us more about what you are experiencing and maybe we can give more detailed suggestions.

Hang in there...and thank you for your question.
