Q: Sex drive loss, no meds?

I've only read about people with depression losing their sex drives due to the side effects of mediation...have any of you lost interest in sex with NO medication?

Thanks xx

It's very common. When you're depressed, nature puts you into survival mode. Your body and psyche may concentrate on only the essentials - sleep and eating. Sex becomes a trivial concern.

YES!  I"m 42, male, and have always had a healthy sex drive, except when in one of my moods.  I occasionally find that even though my interest is there, my physiological response isn't.  Sometimes because my focus wavers, my erection does too.

Yep I am a male aged 26 who used to think he had a strong sex drive but now feel completely without libido. I was diagnosed with clinical depression about a year ago.

It really sucks because all my friends are single and sex is all they talk about, which really distresses me.

Just hoping it will come back soon.

Hi there, I am a 22 y/o female and experiencing the same thing. It used to be very very high and now I feel like a dead fish. Never used any type of medication. I feel almost numb down there-clitoris lost its once great feeling (sorry for the tmi).

Please, for those who responded, did it eventually come back and how long did it take? I am no longer depressed for about two months now but my sex drive is still gone.

I'm 21 male, and ever time I get depressed my sex drive disapears. I used to masterbate 6 times a day and have sex 5 times a day, now, I masturbate once every two weeks and me and my partner, are more like good friends right now rather than lovers...
