Q: New on here...have just started taking antidepressant...any positive outcomes??

Well im 26 years old female and was recently diagnosed as having depression. I have been on Lovan for about three and a bit weeks, i feel as though the medication isn't working or i should give it more time? The side affects were really bad at first (nausea, dizziness, headaches, tiredness) but have pretty much gone apart from abit of nausea. I'm also taking an anxiety relief formula which contains Gentian, Valerian, Passion flower, Hops as i have really bad anxiety and it helps. If there is anyone out there who is or has taken Lovan or anything similar and has had a positive outcome from it please let me hear from you.

Hello shiea26,

Have you asked your doc about your anti anxiety coctail? This may be negating the Lovan or making the side effects worse. Just because something is 'natural' doesnt mean it isn't a drug. Please check with your doc to see if all of these things should be okay together. I hope your feeling better! Sorry about the delay getting back to you.

Medication tend to work more optimally from 6 weeks onwards. The side effects can be quite tough to deal with but should dissapear soon!!! just hold on a while longer!!! Reply

I agree with the others' answers above - you may need more time, as it does take up to 6-8 weeks to really kick in. You may also need another medication. Be upfront with your doctor about this. Sometimes, you/your doc have to try several to find the one that works best for you. That's no fun, but be assurred that there are plenty of things out there.
