I feel as though I am battling depression alone.  My current psychiatrist is not helping me at all.  I need a new one, one that will listen and realize that I need the help ASAP, not in another week.  I know that it takes time for meds to work, as I have been on numerous ones, and that I will not feel better overnite.  I don't know where to turn for help anymore.

Can someone please help me?

Hi Wendy,

I know this may sound silly, but when my meds aren't working good and I can't seem to get relief, I drink some strong green tea. The caffeine isn't the same as in coffee, the theanine in the green tea offsets any jitters. I usually feel some relief within 20 minutes, not symptom free, but definitely a difference. I also make sure I'm eating enough healthy carbohydrates to get serotonin. This helps me get through. Having said this, I wonder if you just walked into a clinic and said you could not go another day without seeing someone, maybe they would "work you in". It's worth a try where you are feeling so badly. Good luck

Hello Miss Mercy Ann and Wendy I am also seeking a doctor for my son who has scitzophrenia. I dont have alot of money and he has no insurance yet he still thinks there's nothing wrong with him. I love the picture of the kitty it's adorable. Good luck and remember wise men still seek him.

Wendy-I don't know what part of the country you live in, but  I am a former Psychologist and have had a long standing, serious mood disorder that was finally successfully treated.  I can probably help you navigate the almost impossible, fragmented mental health sustem that we have in most states, both private and public.  I live in NC, and if you are near NC, I can certainly help you.
