Q: How to deal with losing your mom and the depression that follows?

Ok so on July 28th my husband found this site and posted a question about me. I lost my mother on march 15th this year, which is also the day my third and youngest child turned 8 months. I was extreamly close with my mom, she was only 43, and on August the 23rd will be her first birthday without her. I am 26 years old. I have no health insurance and no medicaid, they say my husband's wages are too much, but at the time of his post, we thought there was nothing that could be done. I am currently going to a behavior health center and they have diagnosed me with PTSD, Severe Anexiety, and a few other things. So I have been put on wellbutrin which is not on the $4 at Wal_Mart, so for 30 pills its almost $50. I know I am all over the place with this story, but my real q's are how do I get more help from my community and get thru this exteamly hard time in my life? Thanks

Hi there

You have a lot on your plate.  I am so sorry about your mom.  Grief is something which can take a lot of time to recover from.  Be kind to yourself during this time.

I want to give you some information about medication...please read my article about how to get mental health treatment and medication when you do not have insurance or money.  You can find that article here.  Please read the comments too.  There is a lot of good information there about getting meds.

I also want to give you the link to our anxiety site

Please let us know if you need any more information.  There is a lot of support here...I do hope you keep writing and reaching out.
