Q: Is there a medication with less side effects than paroxetine?

My sister had a catscan and the findings where disturbing.  She is only 56 years old and had several little strokes.  She has been prescribed paroxetine and is now contemplating to not take the medication because of all the side effects. I there anything else that she can ask her doctor for?<!--Session data-->

Hi, there.  I think you or your sister need to talk to her doctor about her medications, as this is not a medical site.  We would not be qualified to tell her what she should ask for.  Hopefully, she has discussed her fears about the side effects with the doctor and if not, she should and maybe he could put her mind to rest.  Or, if she's already taking it and suffering side effects, there is even more reason to speak with the doctor.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but her doctor should be able to help resolve this.  I wish her the best.
