Zoloft is categorized by the FDA as pregnancy category C, which means that animal studies have shown an adverse effect, and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. You and your doctor will have to weigh the risks and benefits and decide if you're going to take it.

 

It is considered safe to take while breast feeding.
