Hi Amy,

From the evidence I've been looking over the answer seems to be that the benefits of staying on fluoxetine (prozac) outweigh the possible problems during both the first trimester and subsequent stages of fetal development. I'm guessing the doctor who prescribed prozac is aware of the fact that your daughter is pregnant and this should reassure you both that everything is o.k.

In terms of the effect of prozac on the baby, the evidence also points to this as unproblematic. Moreover, as far as can be seen with the current evidence, the development of children who's mother has been taking prozac is unaffected.

Hope this help
