Q: Turning yellow?

My doctor has recently put me on two new medications. One is for my anxiety similar to xanax but not as addictive (according to my doc). It leaves me extremely drowsy. Will this eventually pass? The second med is for OCD and obsessive thoughts. I take three of these nightly. My muscles seem to be sore, the skin around my face feels sore or bruised and people are telling me I'm starting to look yellow. Will these go away after a while?

The symptoms you describe are fairly major side effects. Certainly yellowing of the skin and white's of the eyes, as Judy suggests, are associated with jaundice. I certainly wouldn't stand back and hope they will pass. Get an appointment with a medical doctor as soon as you can.

We aren't medical professionals so can't tell you what is going on, but I would suggest that you talk to your doctor ASAP about this.  I don't know what all you're taking but with some of these drugs, there is risk of liver damage or kidney damage and you want to be sure to have this all checked out.  Please don't wait - it may not be something that will just go away after a bit!

Thanks for your question; hope you get this resolved soon.
