Q: Do shock treatments work? Why cant I find Dr who will consider it

Mental illness runs on both sides of my family but I believe the tramatic abuse that i endured throught my life played more of a role my mental illness than heredity.

Ive been in the mental health system 20 years. Having seen umpteen Dr's and been on every medication, Im no better today than the day I first saught help. To be quite honest, Ive never been worse!

In 2004, I'd finally came to terms I could'nt work.  Having Bipolar combined with ADD took it's toll.

My diagnoses history...... Depression, OCD, PTSD, ADD, and Bipolar.  I wouldn't & could'nteven begin to tell you the crimminal list of meds that have passed through by body

Getting to my question. I am curious about alternative treatments. Has anyone had good results from shock treatments, or that vegus nerve stmilation?

I live in SW Missouri. If anyone has any info on good Dr.'s  withon 50 mile of Joplin MO who are willing to explore other methods of treatment, such as I mentioned, I would appreciate any help in contacting them. Thank you
