PRISTIQ belongs to a class of medications called serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). It comes after cymbalta because cymbalta seemed to do so well with anxiety.   This page has lots of info about GAD medications:   http://depression.about.com/od/gad/f/gadmeds.html   There are many different drugs prescribed for anxiety. You really cant go by a recomendation because these meds work differently on each person. So you just have to talk to your doctor about it and work with what your comfortable with.   Pat
