I either need to up my dosage or find an alternative that doesn't make me angry and sleepless( Wellbutrin) and definetely not something that makes me drowsy ( Paxil ).I sleep often if I am really down. I'm scared to death to switch since I've been on this for 10 years.

I am asking the same question pretty much. I have tried paxil, celexa, effexil, and effexor.

i have had intense anxiety attacks for 11 years now with no known reason as to why but I have been on 150 mg of effexor for 2 years now and it has been working awesome for me.What is your dosage and have you talked to your doctor???Before you switch try and increase your dosage and give it another month or 2 and if it is really not working then try to switch.Remember that a switch is gradual since you have the effexor still in your system, and if a switch is necessary, go to it with an open mind and you would be suprised. If you switch with these thoughts off anxiety it will probably make your anxiety a little rougher at first. Think positive!!!!

Yes, I switched to Celexa especially after gaining over 150lbs.  I have taken off 66lbs of it, but it has been hard.  I had no side effects in switching.  I love the Celexa, I tell everyone about it.  I take 20mg, started at 60mg.  Talk to your Dr. ask him about it.  When I did he was more then happy to let me try it, that has been about 6 years now.

Good luck and remember do not be afraid to ask ?'s of your Dr.  It is your body and you know it better then anyone.
