Hi Chloe,   I have parents like that.  They criticize everything.  It really hurts and can leave you with such anger that you suppress it and develop depression I think.  So it is normal to get depressed after hearing negative comments like that.  I think it is important to find someone to talk to, a counselor or friend who you can trust and talk about what is happening.  There is nothing wrong with you. People who criticize have some problems that cause them to criticize others.  Try to remember that you are ok just the way you are and they have some problems that they need to resolve so they don't keep taking it out on you, in my opinion.  If you can, try to be around other people who lift you up and validate you and say kind things about you other times--it balances out the negative.  If you feel suicidal, call a counselor right away and start getting help.  You are worth getting help.   Cheers,   Marishka
