My wife suffers from depression,
something she kept inside for most of her life (age 47) and never confided in anyone about (including prior therapists). The depression was having a negative effect on our marriage, and we started marital counseling and I started therapy. My wife changed therapists to mine, and he also became our marriage counselor. She had an affair with him that I found out about one month ago, and my wife ended up in a mental hospital with suicidal thoughts. She is out now, the therapist has at least two ethics complaints against him, and she is very distant from me. Is there a support group for men?
Oh no!
This is just...such an ethical violation in the extreme! You must be so angry. I am so sorry this has happened to you and your wife.
I have no great words of wisdom but to try to start over somehow.
Support groups for men? Well you know...you are more than welcome to gain support here...but we do list Male Depression as a support group as well.
Thank you for reaching out here. If we can provide any further support or information...please let us know.
