how long does methadone stay in your system? have been in severe pain and take as perscribed and a few extra so run out early my dr test to make sure in my system so i am trying my best to save one but it is hard. if i run out how long will i have before he test me and it not be there?

Hi there
I don't know a whole lot about methadone so I will try to research this for you.
In the meantime we do have a chronic pain site where the experts there may be better equipped to answer your question.
Why is your doctor testing you? Is he or she worried about addiction?
This is a tough question to answer because so much depends upon your metabolism, how much you take of this drug, and how long you have consistently been taking it. On this drug site they say a range of 1-7 days.
