Q: Does anyone ever have ear problems with Risperdal?

This is a super weird side effect, and just started bothering me even though I have been on Risperdal for years.  It feels like my ears are filling up with liquid when I take the Risperdal.  If I skip a day, it doesn't happen, but then of course I can't sleep.  Does anyone have any suggestions for this prob?

Hi there

In researching your question I found something right away on this...this web site says that what you are describing can be a less common side effect:  "pain in the ear or a discharge from the ear."

Here is the official Risperdal web site.  And here is how to contact them:  Call the Ortho-McNeil Janssen Scientific Affairs Customer Communications Center at
1-800-526-7736, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (EST), Monday through Friday.

Not sure what they may tell you but may be worth a try.

But my best suggestion is to discuss this side effect with your doctor and what you can possibly do about it.  I am sorry this is happening.

Thank you for your question!

Thank you so much for the information.  What a weird side effect.  I will talk to my doctor about this, and possibly contact the company since you provided me with such complete info!
