Q: Any thoughts about the buddhist perspective when it comes to children with mental illness/OCD?

My daughter was diagnosed with OCD when she was 10, but her challenges with anxiety began at the age of 2 with separtation anxiety which then morphed into GAD, and now OCD.  She has been treated with zoloft and exposure-response therapy, as well as CBT.  I've never read anything about the buddhist perspective when it comes to guiding children through mental illness and would love to get some feedback.  It's a very challenging road as a parent.  While my lessons of being her parent have become much clearer for me, I sometimes feel at a loss, when the irrational thoughts that are driven by OCD take over.  Finding the balance in the midst of an illness that is so FEAR driven is  very difficult.

Thoughts?

The only thing Buddhist I've ever seen was an interview conducted by Merely Me, a writer and and community leader for this site with a man who seemed to know quite about that philosophy, but I don't think it was geared specifically toward children. I know, by the comments, that it was well received here.

Anyway, if you wanted to look at it, here is the link. It was done in April of this year.
