This is a really excellent question! I have written a lot about this but here is one article I wrote recently which may be of help and especially if you read all the member comments.
In general I like to approach depression by taking into account your physical health, your support system, changing your way of thinking, therapy, and possibly medication or natural supplements.
Know that you are not going to cure depression in a day...but if you take baby steps each day...it is possible to feel better.
Can you tell us more about you and what sort of depression you have. Are you grieving, do you have a lot of life stressors, is your depression treatment resistant? Tell us more details about what is going on and we can provide a more detailed response.
