Is it safe to stop taking sertraline without weaning off of it?

Hi Peg,

 

Thank you for your question. It is not advised to discontinue sertraline without weaning off of it. Sudden discontinuation can lead to change in mood, irritability, and agitation. You can read more here about the best way to stop antidepressants. I hope this helps!

NO ---- also, the person identified as "professional".... could you elaborate on your credentials....maybe I'm not understanding as I am relatively new to this discussion board/website.   Are you a doctor/therapist?
