Hope, Merely Me did an article on SAM-e in June, Treating Depression With Natural Supplements, SAM-e and 5-HTP, it helps her according to that article. Don't know about the other substance you mention. I know a few of our members have more familiarity with some of those.

Hi Hope

I am currently taking SAM-e as well as fish oil supplements and Vitamin B-12.  But listen...please don't start taking SAM-e without FIRST CONSULTING WITH YOUR DOCTOR!

Anything you take, regardless if it is prescription or from a health food store...you need to make sure there are no dangerous interactions with your other meds.  Be safe!

I do find that SAM-e gives me energy...I have MS so it helps me tremendously with my fatigue.

I wish you the best of luck.  Thank you for your question.
