Topics:anti depressant effects

I have just started back on Paxil for the third time.  Every time I restart it, I feel awful for the first few days?  I am guessing this is my body building up levels.  It always makes me fearful that it might not work.  Is this normal when you first start anti depressants?  I guess I should never go off because of how bad I feel when I have to go back on.  I would love to hear about any elses experiences.

I have learned over time to understand clinical depression/anxiety...

I can understand you completely.  It really isn't good to go off medication and then back on because it changes the brain chemistry so of course you do not feel right for a few days until the chemistry is right.  We all tend to want to stop our meds because we think we do not need them because we feel ok but I have found from past experiences that one who has been diagnosed with clinical depression HAS TO STAY on their meds permanently unless your doctor recommends otherwise. It's like someone who has to be on insulin for diabetes.  Hope I have helped you understand this importance!
