Hi there   These are excellent questions!  I wish I knew more about this treatment option...perhaps we can research this and write about it in a sharepost soon.  In the meantime here is a news article about Vagus Nerve Stimulation for you to read.   Here is a patient's point of view of this treatment although for this fellow the cause to seek this treatment is his epilepsy.   As with anything on the Internet...some information can be inaccurate but this web site says this about the cost:    "The Vagus Nerve Stimulation device costs $12,000 and the cost of surgery to implant the device can run as high as $15,000."   I would check with your doctor to get more information on this type of treatment.  I wish you the best of luck!
