Q: Does smoking interfere with meds? I have a feeling it does. Any info on this?

I smoke and feel that my meds are not working as well as they could be. Effexor at 225 daily. Any research on smoking making depression worsen? Thank You. Sandy

hello sandy,

Thankyou for the question.

While the effexor website only warns against drinking, there is some evidence online of people reporting an increase in their nicotine addiction while taking effexor. Sorry about the delay getting back to you.
