The first thing to ask is whether you were prescribed by a pharmacologist or a regular physician. While many physicians and psychiatrists do prescribe anti-depressants well, it's often advisable to see a pharmacologist so that the dosage or pill can be changed to try to alleviate your pain the best way.   It's also often good to see a psychotherapist while taking medication. The two together can be very helpful, according to research.   Christopher Luka
