Q: What do you think about Nardil? My friend has been taking it for 30 years. He said it took away all his inhabitions......Could that happen?

What is your friend's diagnosis...or what was he using this medication to treat?  I am not sure losing all of one's inhibitions would be a good thing.  Or do you mean he lost his anxiety?

 

Here is some information about Nardil from the National Institutes of Health.  Here they say:  "Phenelzine is used to treat depression in people who have not been helped by other medications. Phenelzine is in a class of medications called monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). It works by increasing the amounts of certain natural substances that are needed to maintain mental balance."
