Q: i take metoprolol and have been on celexa for a little over a month--

i have noticed thightness in my upper chest as well as shortness of breathe and headaches.  please advise if these are side effects of the drugs and if i need to get off the celexa.

Thank you for your question! The symptoms that you mentioned are not side effects associated with Celexa. You can read more about the side effects of Celexa by clicking here.

 

However, the symptoms that you described may be signs of high blood pressure or other heart problems.  I would recommend speaking with your doctor about what you've been experiencing. Don't be shy - tell him or her exactly what's going on, how often you're experiencing these symptoms, what you're doing when it happens, how long it lasts. I hope this helps!
