I need to lose 20-30lbs of weight... is taking Fluoxetine 20mg going to effect this?

I'm 49yrs old and have type 2 diabetes. My Diabetes at this time is undercontrol. I'm no longer taking medication for it. I need to lose another 25lbs. I just started to take Fluoxtine 20mg for Menapause and I read that Fluoxtine slows down your metabolism. Isn't this going to make it even harder to lose weight...And if it is...is there another drug I cant take instead of Fluoxtine.
