Q: How do I stop crying?

I recently tried to stop taking my celexa.  I take 40 mg a day.  Some days I would feel like I didn't need it and some days I would feel like it was not enough.  So, two weeks ago, I decided to stop taking it.  Now it seems like I was worse than before.  I finally gave in and called the pharmacy to get a refill today.  I'm so tired..of crying..of sleeping..of feeling worthless..i"m just tired..

Sorry you're having a hard time.  Now you probably see why you should take your medication consistently.  Antidepressants build up in your system, so skipping days here and there because you feel better doesn't help - the reason you feel better is probably because you've been taking it, so why quit?  If you take it regularly, you may not have those days that feel like it's not enough.  Also, you really should talk to your doctor before changing your dosages or stopping because it can often cause negative side effects.  Hope you're soon feeling better!

Hi Julieann,

I know the feeling of just being tired, tired of crying, feeling bad, trying to fight depression etc.  Exercise, eat well, spend time with friends, do nice things for yourself, do something creative, reward yourself; give yourself a break and tell yourself nice things:), try something you've wanted to try... So easy to say, right.....

You are worth it....You are lovable, valuable and precious and unique, no one else like you.  Celebrate yourself, be kind to yourself.:)  Sending you good thoughts :)
