My son is 15 yrs old ,he believes that something is mentally wrong with him. He says he thinks he is bi polar. He sits and looks up mental illness on the internet for hours, then he cries saying something is wrong with me.People tell me he is just going through hormone changes and his behavior is normal. I have had him in couseling they say they see no signs of mental illness, yet when he is home alone with me he acts very depressed.

I would make an appointment with a reputable psychologist and have your son evaluated. Let him describe what he is feeling to a professional. They are trained and would have a better idea what may be going on. Friends well meaning advice is not the answer, I would take your sons behavior as a cry for help. I have been a psych nurse for 20 years and this sounds important enough to do something quickly. Good luck.

Hello!

Depression is a personal health issue for me....

What kind of counselor has he been seeing. I think a second opinion from a trained psychiatrist is in order. Possible depression or bipolar disorder in teens should be taken very seriously. If you need a referral, talk to your family doctor.

Good luck,

Teri
