Q: Have you ever known Celexa 30mg to cause more nervousness & agitation?

I was on 20mg Celexa and did well for about a month.  After a 3 day bout with anxiety, my dr wanted me to take 40mg, but we agreed on 30mg.  After 10 days on 30, I'm still feeling nervous, agitated, and scared.  He says it takes 2 weeks to kick in.

I'm worried that the medicine may be disagreeing with me.  Prior to this I was on 15mg Paxil for 12 years, but went onto Celexa after being so profoundly tired.  I had also gained 20 lbs while on Paxil.  All my blood tests were normal, thus the blame on the Paxil.  Help!!

While celexa typically has a lower incidence of the side effects you mentioned, yes it can still have those effects.

Were you orignally diagnosed with depression and anxiety or only depression? Have you suffered from anxiety before now? If so(or even if not) I suggest you might want to talk to your doctor about trying an SNRI(Cymbalta/Effexor) as studies have shown them to be much more effective in treating depression with anxiety than SSRI's.
