I'm sure only a professional could answer this.   So you just have to ask your doctor.  Never hesitate to ask,  though, if this is something you think might help. It just might.   Lamictal has been a good medicine for me, not officially diagnosed as bp, but certainly severe mood swings, mostly on the down side.   I take it as a "mood stabilizer" , antidepressant.   Sometimes I wonder if at the right dose, it might not be the only thing I need.  (I wish, but I believe I do need something more).   ASK a professional.  You will probably get a "trial and error" kind of answer.
