How much zoloft 100 mg would equal the same effect of 150 mg of effexor xr?
I currently take 150 mg of effexor xr 2x a day. I cannot afford to pay for my prescriptions even though I have insurance. If I stop taking my meds, I become extremely violent. I used to take zoloft and I know that you're not supposed to take other people's meds but, I feel I have no other choices at this point. My friend has some generic zolofts of 100 mg left that she doesn't take anymore and gave them to me to hopefully prevent my violent outburst from not taking my effexor xr. I was wondering how many of them would be equal to what I take with my effexor xr?
Hi there
I know you are desperate to take something right now but I do not think this is a good idea at all. Does your doctor know that you have to stop taking the effexor because you can't pay for it? There are other options. Effexor is a med you do not want to stop taking cold turkey. The withdrawal symptoms are considerable even when you taper off and if you stop suddenly it is going to be rough for you.
Please take a look at my article about how to get medications when you have no money. Read the comments too because there is information there to help.
Tell your doctor of your situation and see what can be done.
Hang in there....

Yes, I explained to my doctor that I cannot pay for the meds and I even asked for samples, just to get me through. They told me that they don't give out samples of effexor xr anymore and that they couldn't do anything for me until I can see the doctor and my appointment isn't until September. I don't think that I will qualify for getting the meds free or for a discount because, I use my husband's insurance through his employeer and that usually disqualifies you. I know that stopping cold turkey isn't good, I've done it before. What scares me the most is how violent I become. The last time I ran out of my effexor, I broke our 42in T.V. by smashing it with my hands. I told my husband that if I can't get my effexor, I would sign myself into a psych ward or hospital just to keep myself and everyone else safe. I will read your article and the comments. Thank you for your help.
